…they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept. – Song of Solomon 1:6
Now, minding your business as a Christian can be as literal as the statement is. We have the responsibility of looking out for one another but not to a wrecking detriment of our own selves. It would have been foolish of the Good Samaritan if he had stayed with the wounded traveller in the inn; he wasn’t the doctor. And even though he may have had enough money to foot the bill in full, wisdom told him that he needed to pay part, go do his business, make some profit and then return to pay up the balance for the treatment.(Luke 10:34-35).
Your business could be an assignment God has asked you to undertake. But then, you may find another task calling from elsewhere and the zeal to attend to it could even be very strong. But if God has not sent you there, it will be wrong to go or commit all of yourself to such: We have lost some zealous brethren to such adventures. Dr. D.O Oyedepo once mentioned how he once saw the need to reach out to Japan but God told him that wasn’t his assignment; He had assigned someone else specially for that…Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
So, again, in our love for others and zeal towards ensuring that they are well looked out for, let us be guided by God’s wisdom through His Spirit. Mind your business.
Keep winning daily.
Action: Identify your business if you are yet to, and mind it wisely.
